It’s that time of year–Lexington Craft Beer Week is here! We are super pumped to experience our first craft beer week here in Kentucky!

We are so ready for the week-long celebration honoring the emerging craft beer scene here in our new home of Lexington!

Here are our favorite picks for events this week! Hope to see you at a few!

Friday May 11:

Country Boy & West Sixth: Country Western Volume VI Release

5pm: Country Boy Brewing Lexington

436 Chair Ave & 501 W. Sixth St

“This collaboration DIPA is meant to be enjoyed ASAP, letting the freshest hop notes shine as we welcome in summer. Brewed with Mosaic and Exp. 06300 hops and double dry hopped with 06300, Country Western 6 has characteristics of pineapple, tropical fruit, pine, cedar, coconut, and citrus.”

Why you should go: Country Boy and West Sixth have grown up together in the Lexington beer scene over the last six years. Go celebrate their collaboration in the community over a pint of Country Western!

Lexington Craft Beer Week Kickoff Game

6pm: Whitaker Bank Ballpark 

207 Legends Ln, Lexington, KY 40505

“Stop by Whitaker Bank Ballpark for the Lexington Legends vs Delmarva game featuring specialty beers from the local breweries, with a special ticket price for a tasting. Box seats and two drink tickets bundled for only $15! Representatives from each of the breweries will be on-hand to talk about their beers.”

Why you should go: This is a great opportunity to meet the local breweries and taste some great beer–all at a really great price!

 

Saturday May 12:

Rock House/Nate’s Coffee Brewoff and Coffee Beer Releases

8am-2pm: Rock House Brewing

119 Luigart Ct, Lexington, KY 40508

“Our second annual Coffee Beer Brewoff: Brewers will be competing to produce a beer using Nate’s Coffee. Plus Rock House will be releasing variants of their own beers using Nate’s Coffee. Breakfast provided by Forage Food Truck.”

Why you should go: Ever seen the brewing process? Learn more about brewing at this event! Also, breakfast plus beer…what could be better? Who knows, you may even spot these Kentucky beer bloggers out in the wild!”

 

Sunday May 13:

Buy Mom a Beer with Brunch

11am-8pm: Oscar Diggs

“Special Mother Day brunch menu with the Mom’s of the Oscar Diggs’ recipes and dishes featured on the menu. Will offer discounted brunch themed beers and drinks all day for Moms.”

Why you should go: Treat your mom (or yourself) to a brunch inspired by Mom’s favorite recipes. What a great way to honor your moms, Oscar Diggs! Also…BRUNCH.

 

Monday May 14:

Beer Themed Trivia

7pm-9pm: Mirror Twin Brewing

“Our themed trivia this month will be none other than craft beer trivia. Come show off what you know about beer for a chance to win some MTB gift cards.”

Why you should go: You know we love showing off our beer smarts! This is a great way to brush up on your knowledge and engage in some (friendly) competition!

 

Tuesday May 15:

 

Barrel Aged Beer Takeover with Alltech

5:30pm-8:30pm: Goodfella’s

“Special taping of the Willet barrel-aged Rickhouse Series: Bluegrass Shadow at 6:00 PM. Prizes include the Willet Bourbon Barrel used to age Bluegrass Shadow and 4 tickets to the Alltech Craft Brews and Food Fest. Featured beers include Willet barrel-aged Rickhouse Series: Bluegrass Shadow, Kentucky Peach Barrel Wheat Ale, Rickhouse Series: Kentucky Mule, and Rickhouse Series: Rye Barrel Barleywine.”

Why you should go: FREE STUFF! But really, Goodfella’s is giving away some cool prizes this day, including 4 tickets to the Alltech Craft Brews and Food Fest!

 

Wednesday May 16:

Experimental Tap Takeover

4pm-10pm: Rock House Brewing

119 Luigart Ct, Lexington, KY 40508

“We will be replacing our taps with all test batches; including some variants, one-offs and six different Iambics.”

Why you should go: Rock House has been killing it as one of the newer breweries in the Lexington beer scene. You can be sure they’ve got some super cool brews up their sleeve for this event!

5pm: Country Boy Brewing

“Take a break from beer for the evening and try 12 varieties of our hard cider, including some of your favorite throwbacks!”

Why you should go: You probably don’t need a break from all of the beer this week, but use this as an excuse to try a ton of different variations of Country Boy’s classic hard cider.

 

Thursday May 17:

Beer Dinner with Country Boy

5:30pm-8:30pm: OBC Kitchen

3373 Tates Creek Rd, Lexington, KY 40502

“Join us for a beer dinner with Country Boy Brewing! 5 beers paired with 4 food courses. $50/person, reservation recommended (859) 977-2600.”

Why you should go: The menu for this event looks INCREDIBLE! Two words: Chicken (and) Waffles.

 

Friday May 18:

Trials of Yamamoto

5pm: Ethereal Brewing

1224 Manchester St, Lexington, KY 40504

“We’re excited for this one. Come try five experimental beers inspired by Japanese ingredients like koji rice, cephalopod ink, and red bean paste. All six will be on tap at 5 PM. Enjoy them with dinner by Atomic Ramen, who will be serving on site! Beers will be: Akkorokamui: Wheat Beer with Fruit and Cephalopod Ink, Amazake-babaa: Saison with Koji Rice, Chōchinbi: Imperial Rice Lager with Sorachi Ace, Azukitogi: Imperial Stout with Anko and Plum, Umibozu: Gose with Seaweed, Sea Salt, and Citrus, Kodama: Tart IPA with Green Tea.”

Why you should go: Say what?! These beers sound crazy! We’ve got to taste them to believe. Also, ramen.

Crawfish Boil with Bourbon n’ Toulouse

6pm-10pm: Pivot Brewing

1400 Delaware Ave, Lexington, KY 40505

“We are having a party with Bourbon n’ Toulouse and you are invited. Drinking is encouraged and there will be 500 pounds of crawfish—first come first served! It will be an evening of messy eating, good conversations, and community. For non-crawfish lovers there will also be a shrimp boil. It’s gonna be cray-cray.”

Why you should go: If you haven’t been to any type of seafood boil before, you need this experience in your life. If you have, you know you can’t pass this up!

 

Saturday May 19:

Alltech Craft Brew and Food Fest

noon-6pm: Heritage Hall

430 W. Vine St, Lexington, KY 40507

“Get your tickets now to Lexington’s largest craft beer festival featuring over 60 breweries and over 250 beers from all over the world. From noon until 6PM, Heritage Hall will be alive with local musicians, local food vendors, and the best beer you can get, and some you can’t get, in Kentucky! Tickets are available for $30 in advance at us.alltechbrewsandfood.com, and are available for $40 at the door.”

Why you should go: Go big or go home! That’s the only way to to start wrapping up CBW here in Lexington!

 

Sunday May 20:

5th Annual Beer Cheese Contest

1pm-5pm: Country Boy Brewing

436 Chair Ave, Lexington, KY 40508

“Come try 50+ beer cheese recipes from local cooks and vote for your favorite to help us crown a winner!”

Why you should go: It’s scientifically proven that beer cheese is the perfect hangover food. Plus, all proceeds from the event will benefit the Old Friends Thoroughbred Retirement Farm in Georgetown, KY!
